Awaken Your Summer Spirit: Crane, Heron & the Fire Energy with Qigong

Summer invites us to honor our hearts, embrace joy, and move with ease. In qigong, the

graceful movements of the Crane and Heron help cultivate the fire element of summer, supporting balance, stillness, flexibility, focus, and emotional well-being.
As you move into Crane Pose, stand on one leg, inhale and lift the opposite knee, and gently raise your arms like wings reaching toward the sky. Exhale arms and foot lowers - repeat 3x on each side. Transition into Heron Pose by hinging forward from the hips on inhale, extending one leg behind you while your arms stretch forward, creating length and stability throughout the body. Exhale and arms and leg come back to standing - repeat 3x on each side.
Breathe deeply as you slowly flow between each movement. Keep your gaze softly fixed on the horizon (not your feet) to improve balance. With regular practice, these movements strengthen the body, improve coordination, and cultivate a calm, centered mind.

As you practice, imagine
flowing through your body—connecting your heart, spine, arms, and legs with every breath. These pathways awaken energy, encourage ease, and remind us that when energy moves freely, we feel more connected to ourselves and the world around us. Like the crane and heron, may you move through this season with grace, balance, and an open heart.
Join us in class as we explore seasonal qigong practices that help you flow through your days with love, calm and peace.
