With the boost of âď¸Summer "fire" energy, here are 3 poses we recommend to balance and inspire your daily practice.
Melting Hearthelps to clear heatâ¤ď¸âđĽ, calms the heart, reduces swelling and provides contentment.
From table pose, extend arms and hands towards front of mat with hips over knees. You can prop chest with bolster, if desired and allow heart to melt towards sacred ground. Practice slow inhales and exhales.Â
Standing Tree âđłembodies stillness and stability.
With feet hip distance, find stillness with feet planted firmly on the ground, with arms raised, emulating a tree's sturdy, rooted stance. This meditative pose focuses on internal energy and mindfulness. Arrive in space and focus on breath.
Legs Up The Wallimproves flexibility, improves blood, lymph and qi circulation, reducesâşď¸stress, relief from tension in the back and hamstrings and tonifies the gallbladder and urinary bladder channels. Also, this pose regulates body temperature.
Lying on your back, bring legs up the wall. If desired, place bolster under hips. Let your head rest đââď¸on blanket and rest arms down by your sides.
These poses compliment the rhythm and season of Summer and the impact of these changes to our body, mind and spirit. We practice poses that support the seasons in qigong class throughout the year with other slow flowing movements, breathwork, tapping and stillness. Join us in class and see what all the buzz đis about.
