Unplugging📱for a Healthier Life and Genuine Connections

The Mayo Clinic highlights numerous wellness advantages of reducing screen time. A simple and effective method to counteract the negative impacts is to set aside our devices and actively participate with our family and/or to be present in the moment.

Have you observed that you can be surrounded by people and still feel lonely, overlooked, or as if you don't exist? Communication has deteriorated, particularly as texting📱often becomes a convenient substitute for real conversation. In these instances, genuine human expression is missing and lacking. Unplugging brings benefits for improved mental health, reduction in stress, better sleep💤, increase in creativity and stronger relationships👭.
Taking breaks and unplugging is a habit that will certainly bring numerous health benefits and boost energy on every level. By cutting down on scrolling, tv, internet time and engaging in other activities🚲 , we also stimulate the brain, body, and spirit.
Consider reducing your usage to experience the benefits. With the days getting longer and brighter, it's an ideal opportunity to do so. Instead of heading to the couch with your phone, leave it on the charger and go for a walk👣, chat with a neighbor, or engage in a fun activity. I sometimes get frustrated with myself when I realize how much time I've spent scrolling. You might feel similarly, but remember to be kind to yourself, as the phone has become somewhat addictive. It takes time to let go and enjoy the simpler things in life. Remember you are not alone and we're all feeling the impacts. See you in class.
